Chris’ 25-plus years in the telecommunications world has seen him in management and engineering roles in Australasia, Asia and the Middle East. His particular specialty lies in master planning, and those management strategies specifically associated with infrastructure developments.

These strategic strengths underpinned two of his more memorable projects – working on the Cyber City Master Plan for Malaysia, and developing the telecommunications master plan to support the Qeshm Free Trade Zone in Iran.

Rugby and cricket are major interests but just now most energy goes into keeping up with two teenage daughters.

Murray  Young, Director
B.E. (Electrical), Dip BIA., MBA

With over 30 years in the industry, Murray has extensive business and technical experience in strategic planning, systems integration, voice and data systems and commercial negotiations.

Among his international assignments is a 9 month stint in Singapore pulling together an information systems strategy for an international bank operating in over 40 countries; and the design and implementation of a New Zealand and Australia-wide banking network capable of handling real-time operations. Locally, his projects have ranged from major telecommunications strategies to selection assistance and due diligence.

When he wants to get away from it all, Murray takes to the sea or the snow – or, if he’s really serious about it - the tramping tracks of the French and Italian mountains.

Brian  Jones, Consultant
B.E. (Electrical)

With a background in telco networks, Brian’s the one we turn to for expertise in networks, whether it’s reticulation, fibre-optics or wireless. Past projects have ranged from systems design and management to auditing and advisory roles for major financial organisations.

Recent assignments of particular satisfaction include a land mobile network RFP for a major power company; the testing of a medical alarm system; and a telecommunications review that resulted in cost savings in excess of $1million.

Something of a wireless guru, Brian has been Secretary to the New Zealand Wireless Data Forum since late 2002.

Although he’s wireless at work, outside the office Brian is often found at at the end of a line – up to his waist in water, contemplating the fly, the fish, and the hidden beauties of Rotorua and Taupo.
